Today we went to a writing workshop at Southroyd Primary School, have a read of our poem

I remember last Christmas

I remember last Christmas

All that fun

Mum running around the kitchen

preparing the buns

I remember last Christmas

The school play went wrong

The star went home sick

and we sung the wrong song

I remember last Christmas

The dog ate the turkey

Dad bought a pizza 

And mum's face went murky

I remember last Christmas

Jumping out of bed

Opening my new crayons

and drawing on Dad's head

I remember last Christmas

It was completely crazy

I can't wait for next year

And my name is Maisie

The Art of Noticing

Whilst geocaching recently, I took my notebook and pen and made notes about what I heard and saw. When I got home I wrote this poem - hope you enjoy it!

Birds chatter in the trees while

the grass is sweating in the morning sun,

The sticky squelchy mud,

The flower stood lonely in the grassy field,

The trees tower above me like giants,

The rocks clamber on top of each other,

The old tree stretches out its arms and tries to grab me,

The hills seem like waves in the distance as

aeroplanes roar in the clouds high in the sky,

Horses grazing hungrily in the fields,

The golden autumn leaves drift from the trees as

the horse trots on the stony track,

Tree canopies cast shadows on the ground,

The green luscious hedge is like a big wall,

Huge muddy puddles form a pond and

rainwater trickles down the slope forming a stream,

The brown autumn leaves dance in the breeze while

bright red berries wait to be eaten by hungry birds,

Evil thorns and nettles try to prick walkers and

green ivy climbs up the trees squeezing tightly

This is me on my first Christmas!

 I recomend France to anyone who is going on holiday.
Last year I went to France with some friends and my family. The friends I went with were Jay and Daisy and their parents . We went by ferry and we went for a week. It was very hot too.

I used to have glasses because I had a squint in my right eye.

I love animals but mostly I love cats and kittens because they are sooooo cute!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a cat called Macy. I used to have one named Dugy too!
